An Rubha

Easdale island is unique. The smallest permanently-inhabited inner-Hebridean island, it was once the heart of Scotland’s slate mining industry. Nowadays, the car-free island, accessed by a short passenger ferry journey from Seil, is a go-to destination for visitors and holidaymakers looking for something different and special. Whether it’s peace, quiet and relaxation or adventure and activities you are after the island and surrounding area offer the very best of Argyll on Scotland’s famed west coast.

Things to do and see

Local attractions include: marine wildlife expeditions on Seafari boats, delicious local seafood at the Puffer (the island’s award-winning restaurant) and the island’s museum. There’s whisky tasting at nearby Oban distillery, castles, kayaking and sailing. Discover the meaning of ancient stone circles in Kilmartin Glen or walk the dozens of local hills and tracks. The island is the perfect location for family holidays where children can endlessly explore and play. There’s even a special quarry for those who like cool, clean and clear waters to swim in. If you would rather sit and watch the world go by in peace and tranquility, An Rubha offers the perfect location for that too.
